TITLE: Finally I Won
I was already late getting home. I took a quick glance at my cell phone, as it read almost twelve thirty at night. “No chance of getting any rickshaw here now.” I thought to myself. So I doubled my speed and took a shortcut which could have reduced the distance from almost 20 blocks to 15 blocks or so. It was enough tough to reach home as quickly as possible. But the problem was, the night was dark as space. To make it worse, there was no electricity as well. However, I tried to manage myself scurrying along the street. As I was turning on aisle, two men descended out of the darkness. Without wasting any time they came forward, grabbed my hands so that I couldn’t get loose and demanded what I had. A first, I had a sudden strike of panic but I tried to keep my nerves still. “I am outnumbered for sure but I have to outwit them and I’m not going to let those crooks get the better of me.” I said to myself. I also could sense somehow that though they were trying to scoop up the whole thing rather professionally, there was a little bit of a tint of shakiness in their attitude.
They were Forcing and threatening me in whispering voices. But I tried my best to keep my head cool and think positively. I thought, “If I can let lose my hands somehow, there may be a little possibility that I can outrun them.” Although they were trying to rob me they showed no intention of snatching my cell phone and wallet out of my pocket. Instead, they were just grabbing my hand as viciously as they could and asking me to do that very part. This nervous attitude was certainly showing that they were new in this line. This feeling gave me a sudden boost of confidence and I told them to release my hand so that I could give them my cell phone and the wallet. As they were trying to do their job as quickly as possible, they were a little incredulous and released my hand slightly. I took the chance with a sudden leap I jolted them away a little bit and started to run as fast as I could.
They tried to catch me up. But it was too dark a night. And it was impossible to track down a man who had been running for his life. So, soon enough they lost their way following me in the darkness. I was gasping for air but didn’t stop running as if I had been chased by a wild dog.
When I heard no footsteps behind me, I stopped running. I tried to catch my breath, as I started walking as fast as I could. After a while, I reached my home and had a sign of relief. “That was too close,” I thought,” But I dealt my way through the situation.” After all, it never occurred to me in the past that I could do such a thing of bravado. I learned the lesson of having confidence and trying out thing without the fear of failure.
