TITLE : After Thunder Comes Rain

Socrates was a great philosopher, who had an unhappy conjugal life. His wife always quarreled with her hubby for is careless life. Socrates lived about 2500years ago in Athens. He always tried to find out the truth about everything. He would go to market place in the evening after day’s work and continued his search for truth. He kept himself absent minded in most of the time. e was also indifferent to his family. Is wife was very arrogant. She could not tolerate Socrates' indifference towards family life. She was also very angry with is searching activities. All those seemed to her absurd.

One day at home along with his friends Socrates talked about the government go Athens, religion and the gods. e become too much curious to find out the truth about these things. He discussed how human being could lead a happy life without hurting one another. Unfortunately just then his wife came like a storm and started quarrelling. All is friends went away. Socrates kept silent and sat upon a threshold facing the street of the village. He did not reply to the rebuke of his wife. Passersby were crossing him and laughed at him. They teased him as he was in miseries because of the furious rebuke of his wife.

When people were mocking him, he said smiling, “My friend! You must know that after thunder comes rain." Just at that moment his wife comes with a tub which water and she poured the water upon his head. People bused into laughter noticing his absurdity. But Socrates again smilingly said “You see, after thunder comes rain."
