The Annual Sports Competition Held
Sujon Ahmed, Dhaka, 10 September: The prize-giving ceremony and sports competition of Dhaka City College of this year was held on the 15th January in the college playground with the principal of the college in the chair. The local Member of Parliament was the chief guest at the function.
The big college compound was very nicely decorated with flags and festoons. A colourful stage was also set up in the middle of the college compound. As a result the college compound wore a festive look. The sports started at 8.00 am when the principal hoisted the national flag with the band of national anthem.
There were 25 events in which students of the college took part according to their own choice. The audience was highly impressed by their performance. The whole function was echoed with clapping. Then the prize giving ceremony started.
The chief guest gave away the prizes among the winners. He pleaded for parental co-operation for preserving the reputation of the college and advised the students to remain firmly disciplined and obedient and studious for molding their life and character.
The function came to a close in the late afternoon with a vote of thanks proposed by the chair to the chief guests and other guests and participants.
