The name of my country is Pakistan. It is very dear to me. It is my homeland. I m proud of it. Pakistan came into being on August 14, 1947. Before it the British ruled over this country for about 200 years. It was the age of slavery. Before that the Muslims had ruled over this great territory for 8000 years with great pomp and show. Unfortunately, the British made them slaves. At last the Muslims started a movement for their freedom.

Some great Muslim leaders created a wave of awakening in Muslim. Allama Iqbal tops this list. He prepared them for freedom through his poetry. He gave the idea of Pakistan. The Muslims were united under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam. As a result of his struggle, Pakistan appeared on the map of the world on August 14, 1947. He was appointed as the first Governor General of Pakistan.
