My Favourite TV Program
Television is contributing much to our society by offering various types of programmes. Especially in case of entertainment its contribution is incomparable. People living in every nook and corner of the country are entertained with the programmes of it. The liking of a programme varies from man to man.
To me debate competition is the most interesting and instructive programme of television. It enriches our knowledge providing a lot of information on various topics. The speaking style, presentation, and refutation of logics also force me to choose it as the best programme. The two groups existing in a debate competition try utmost to deliver their speeches with the best gestures and logics. They seem to be struggling but everything in a peaceful way. Sometimes they deliver their speeches with examples in support of their speeches and sometimes they throw questions to their opposition group. All these keep the listeners spell bound. The comments of the moderator also add interest and instructive value to the competition. Dr. Hasan Mahmud is a noted moderator who is seen off and on moderating debate competition on television. The judges sometimes deliver their opinions over the topics and over the competitors. Thus a lot of important and unknown information come out through a debate competition.
What is more, a debate competition helps to improve our power of judgment and inspires students at different levels to participate in extra-curricular activities. On the other hand, it has no harmful effect. People of all age can watch this program. So considering the importance of instructive value, this type of programmes should be arranged and broadcast more and more television.
