My First Day at College
My first day at college is a memorable day in my life. The day was so thrilling and memorable that I can still remember it clearly. I got myself admitted into Mymensingh Cantonment College. I, along with my elder brother, started for my college early in the morning by a rickshaw. My brother took departure after arrival at the college gate. I entered the college campus with curiosity. I understood that I had entered into a new life.
The college campus was crowded by many young boys and girls. I was overwhelmed to see an endless stream of students moving up and down the corridors. They were all unknown to me. So, I was feeling lonely. Luckily I found some of my friends who also seemed helpless to me. However, we all went to the notice board and wrote down the class routine. When the bell rang for the first period, we entered the fixed classroom. After a while, a well dressed handsome gentleman entered the classroom. He was the professor of English. He spoke in a very decent and dramatic way with simple and clear English. His lecture was very meaningful. He finished his lecture giving a general description of our English syllabus. I listened to his lecture with rapt attention. I also attended two or three other classes on that day. All the classes were very enjoyable and I found that all the teachers were highly qualified.
The classes being over, I went to the common room with curiosity. I was very glad to see it. I found there many students reading newspapers and playing various indoor games. I also visited the library, laboratory and the hall room. Since I had no more class on that day, I came straight home with a strange thrill of pride and pleasure. The memory of my first day at college will remain fresh in my mind forever.
