My Birthday Party
The culture of celebrating birthday is foreign to us. Though it is a western culture yet, it has got a native colour and has become our own. A birthday party is a very good occasion for meeting friends and close relatives. My last birthday party was observed on the 10th January, 2014. I celebrated the party in a very cordial manner.
First I cleaned our drawing room and decorated it with nice festoons and colorful balloons. My younger sister assisted me in this job. Then I put on my new dress presented by my mother. In the evening when the invited guests began to come, I stood at the gate and welcomed them. They all brought nice gifts for me. In the party there was a big cake bearing my name, candles, snacks, and refreshments for the guests. When I put off the candles and cut the cake, all of my friends, relatives and guests were singing in chorus, "Happy Birthday to You". They also cheer, clap and pray to Allah for my long and happy life. Delicious food items were placed on the dining table and soon after those were handed out. All the guests began to eat, gossip and make merry.
One of my cousins was taking snaps of the function. My friends were all eager to have snaps in their own mobile phone camera. Some of my friends sang sweet songs for me. I passed the whole day in a festive mood. The day was really very enjoyable for me.
