A Stormy Night
A stormy night is very dreadful and horrible because it destroys many things within a few hours. Almost every year the people of Bangladesh experience a stormy night. Usually, in Bangladesh it occurs in the month of Chaitra and Baishakh.

During a stormy night, the sky is overcast with clouds. The wind starts blowing violently from all directions. There are sometimes lightings and roar of thunders. People shudder in fear. Overall nature looks ferocious and gloomy. The terrible sound is all around. The gusty wind blows away the roofs of houses. However, once I experienced a violent storm during the summer season in 2012. I was in Cox’s Bazar with my parents. The weather was very hot for two days. One afternoon a gusty wind began to blow violently owing to low depression on the Bay of Bengal. Suddenly the sky was covered with black clouds. It started raining heavily. Nature looked so ferocious. Frequent lightings and thunderstorms were taking place. A disorder in movements of people and other animals were being held. Within a few minutes, I saw all things around me became disordered. The effects after storm were so horrible. Houses were wiped out. Trees were uprooted. A number of villages were damaged. Many people became homeless. Some of them were wounded seriously by the sudden blow of storm.

The miserable conditions of the coastal areas were beyond description. Tidal Waves also swept away many lives, cattle, houses and other belongings. When I experienced this cyclone, I felt that I should go among the affected people and help them as far as possible. As I was helpless, I could not do anything for them. In fact, the stormy night was a night of horror and destruction.
