Corruption
Corruption means adopting dishonest practice to gain anything. It is a great problem in our country. It is becoming more acute day by day. There are different forms of corruption such as taking bribe, nepotism, misuse of power, misuse of fund etc. Some corrupt sectors are the educational department, the police department, the land department and the health department.
Most of the people from the higher level to the lower level especially political persons are engaged in corruption. In fact, almost everyone in our society is trying to defeat every other one to make unlimited wealth within a short time. However, there are some causes behind corruption. Lack of morality is the main cause of it. Greed for power and wealth, weak administration, lack of patriotism, unemployment, poverty, illiteracy, over population, lack of public awareness etc. are also responsible for corruption. Corruption exercises negative effect on our socio-economic condition. It frustrates all our development efforts and disturbs our social peace and happiness.
So, it is high time to take some positive steps against it. People should be properly educated. Public awareness should be raised to start a social campaign against corruption. Problems of illiteracy, population, poverty, unemployment etc. should be removed. Honest people should be appointed in different jobs. The corrupted people should be given exemplary punishment. The laws should be enforced strictly. Finally, both the government and the conscious people should work together to stop the widespread practice of corruption. Otherwise, we will fall into a great danger.
