Child Labour
Child labour means physical labour imposed upon innocent children. It is a great problem in our country. The children of poor families, street children, and the orphans are the victims of child labour.

Some girls work as maid servants who work from early morning to midnight. Some boys work in shops and hotels. They also break bricks and stones. They are also found to carry brick and other building materials from one place to another. Some boys and girls collect pieces of paper, old plastic things, torn shoes etc. Some boys work as porters. All these children do these jobs because of poverty. It is an irony of fate that these children are deprived of their basic human rights. They are helpless. They work hard but they are paid less. They are always misbehaved and very often they are tortured mercilessly. They are ill-treated everywhere. They are not given proper food. They often suffer from malnutrition and get attacked with various diseases at their early age. They are completely deprived of the light of education.

Child labour harms the normal growth of children. The government as well as the conscious people should think seriously about the issue of child labour. They should work together to change the lot of these working children. If possible, these children should be taken back to schools for education. These children can also contribute to the economy of the country if they are educated properly. The rich people can help these poor children by establishing safe child homes. However, the concerned authority should take proper steps to ensure their basic human rights. We should also be more humane and sympathetic in behaviour to these working children.
