Both men and women have equal contribution in the world. A baby needs both father and mother. A family can not be run without a woman in the form of mother, wife, sister or daughter. But from the ancient time, people don’t recognize their contribution. About fifty percent of the total population of our country is women. There is no denying that our womanhood plays a significant role in the development of our country.

Earlier in our society, women were forced and kept inside the home. But that time is over. Now women have proved their ability and talent. They are working in every field of life- in offices, banks, factories, schools, colleges and universities, in armed forces, trade and commerce. The bringing up of the children, the management of the family, and even the shopping and marketing are done by our women.

In every sector of production, women play a major part. Our ready-made garment sector almost totally depends on women. More than 70 percent of our garment workers are women. Nowadays, in every respect women are being given priority. At present in Bangladeshthe Prime Minister and the main opposition party leader are women. No nation can develop without the presence of women in productive sector.

We have been suffering from hunger and poverty. Because our women are staying far from us. We should take them with us. Many of our women are still deprived of their rights. We should help them to be self reliant.
