Composition on Birds of Bangladesh
Birds are beautiful creatures of nature and source of joy and pleasure. Birds are a part of nature. They enrich our natural beauty. Bangladesh is a unique abode of birds. In Bangladesh, there are about 575 species of migratory birds, which come in September/October and live up to February /March. The rest are domestic birds. The most familiar, but the least liked, birds in Bangladesh is the crow. It is a bird of prey. It is very cunning.
The common plundering birds are the kite, the seagull, the kingfisher etc. They have keen eyes, sharp claws, nails, and sweeping nature. They swoop down upon their praise and carry it away.The dove, the pigeon, the snipe, the heron, the bittern, the partridge, the teals etc are game birds. The dove is a mild bird. It may be called a songbird at is also noted for this song. The small pigeon is a small pet bird. the snip the bittern the heron and the teals are called game birds as there hunted and killed for or sports. There are hundreds of songbirds in our beautiful land. The cuckoo is the most popular of them. It appears with the coming of spring.
The parrot, the maina, the chandana, the shyama, thekoel amd the shalik are popular singing birds. The parrot has an attractive look. The doel is the national bird of Bangladesh. There are some other common birds which deserve special mention. The tuntuni, the babui and the swallow are called tailor birds. The sparrow is a very small bird. It is very active and alert. Again the vulture is a common bird. It feeds upon the flesh of dead animals. The crane is a they add charm and beauty to the flora and fauna of our country. It is our moral responsibility to help them to survive.
