Dear Sir,
We have the honour to draw your kind attention to the fact that the law and order situation of Raiganj area has deteriorated much. The whole area is in the grip of the toll collectors. Very often they demand a huge amount of toll from all classes of people. No construction and repair work is possible without giving them a large amount of toll. Most of the toll-collectors possess unlicensed arms. If anybody fails to fulfill their demand, he is tortured inhumanly and is made bound to pay the money. If proper steps are not taken to stop this toll collection right now, it would become quite impossible for the people to live here.
Under the above circumstances, we earnestly pray and hope that you would look into the matter and take proper steps against the toll collectors to ensure the safety of the people.
